THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959)

An accentric millionaire with theatrical tendencies invites a select group of people to stay overnight in his creepy house, which used to be an insane asylum. Stephen (Vincent Price), accompanied by his bitter wife, Evelyn (Carol Ohmart), offers a million dollars to anyone who can survive the entire night once the doors and windows are automatically locked and barred at the stroke of midnight, at which time they will have no other choice. When Stephen and Evelyn become trapped with their guests, they soon realize that the house really is haunted -- and the spirits dwelling within are very angry. Director: William Castle.
